Sample Template
Why Reinvent the Wheel?

@Templates are out-of-the box managed code business applications featuring InfoPath 2007 and SQL Server 2005. Each Application Package, called a @Pak, contains everything you need to successfully implement your InfoPath 2007; forms, code, Web Services, SQL database, Stored Procedures, and SQL reports.

Built by, and for, MIS Professionals

@Paks can be deployed immediately, without modification or can quickly be extended to meet specific user requirements because they are all built on a common framework. This framework, called @Templates Base™ provides Security, Preferences, Help Text, Template Lists, and Error handling for all InfoPath forms in an application. It provides an extendable ASP like n-tier architecture framework to build mini-applications with managed code. The idea is simple: use InfoPath 2007 for the Presentation Layer, managed code for the business layer, on top of a reusable SQL Data store.

Design Objectives

  • Provide a structured framework for InfoPath managed code applications.
  • Provide n-tier architecture similar to ASP.
  • Role based security model similar to ASP for forms authentication.
  • Persistent sign-on that allows user to stay logged on between forms.
  • Provide consistent user interface across templates and applications.
  • Provide consistent user interface in local and web service templates.
  • Reusable SQL Stored Procedures.
  • Intranet and Internet forms use the same SQL Database store.
  • Intranet and Internet forms provide the same features and functions.
  • Database maintained Help Text for localization.
  • Database maintained Error Messages for localization.
  • Database maintained Preferences across templates and applications.
  • Populate all drop-down lists for a template with a single database roundtrip.
  • Consistent programs to facilitate enhancements and modifications.
  • Use configuration files (e.g. web.config) for SQL connection – not hard-wired.
  • Provide respectable response time.

Intranet and Internet

All @Pak™ InfoPath templates include two versions: Local (direct, networked, or SharePoint) and a Web Service version that can be deployed as an Intranet or Internet form. Both forms and database are identical in feature and function. Security, of course, can be different on the two versions.

Out of the Box – Ready to Go

Each @Templates™ @Pak™ includes over 30 InfoPath templates, 30 XML schemas, 100 stored procedures, 55 SQL Server tables, and 25 SQL Server Reporting Service reports. And every @Pak comes with detailed documentation for Installation, User Training, Modifications, and Deployment.

Everything you need, to make your InfoPath managed code project a roaring success!
